Building a community where fitness and play are the foundation for all families.
The SUMMER ACTIVITY BUNDLE includes activities guaranteed to keep kids active and happy throughout the summer.
If you’re like me, you want to teach your students and your own kids the importance of healthy habits at a young age. Healthy habits are behaviors that are beneficial to one’s physical or mental health, often linked to a high level of discipline and self-control. Therefore, whether it’s brushing teeth, limiting screen time, or playing outside, we want the people we love and care for to regularly take on these actions at a young age so they will eventually turn into habits.
Encourage your students and families to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. This is especially important during a time when kids and adults spend excessive time on computers for school, work, and pleasure. It’s time to open the door, step outside, breathe fresh air, and observe our natural surroundings. By observe, I mean slow down and take a deep dive into our natural environment. Look high, look low, look under, look through, look behind, look everywhere! You might be surprised what you discover.
As Albert Einstein once said, “PLAY is the highest form of research!” And like I always say, “Play is a child’s best way to exercise body and brain.” NEVER STOP PLAYING! The Play it Up! 30-day challenge is geared to give children a variety of ideas for both indoor and outdoor play.
The Brain and Body Boost challenge includes 17 recommended physical activities along with “BRAIN BOOSTS”, which are specific ideas and variations for each physical activity. The 17 listed activities are just the tip of the iceberg. Also included in the challenge is a BRAIN and BODY BOOST blank template. This allows children to add their own physical activities and associated brain boosts.
