We love this fast-paced indoor soccer game. It includes passing, shooting, defense, ball handling, and endurance creating continuous fun for every student.

To begin:

  • Divide the class into four teams.
  • Each team wears a different color jersey and reports to one of the four corners of the gymnasium.
  • Teams set up five cylinders or lightweight cones on the corner lines about 12-16 inches apart. One cone is placed directly on the corner, two on the sideline, and two on the baseline.
  • Each team begins with a different color soft soccer ball.

To play:

  • Teams divide evenly into offensive and defensive (goalie) positions. For teams of five, you can have two on offense and three goalies or vice versa.
  • On the signal to begin, offensive players from each team attempt to knock over the pins from any of the other three teams.
  • Goalies must remain by the pins while preventing the three other teams from knocking them over. Goalies can only use their feet. NO HANDS!
  • If a pin is successfully knocked over, the player responsible takes the pin back to their team and sets it up on one of their corner lines.
  • After three minutes, stop the game and instruct to offensive and defensive players to switch roles.
  • The team with the most pins after six minutes wins the round.
  • Reset and play again.

This game can also be played with just two teams across the gym as seen below.
