HEAD to HEAD SNOWMAN was inspired by Coach Gelardi’s ROLL A SNOWMAN game.

Setup:

  • On each sideline, place enough cones for teams of two or three. Teams directly across from each other will compete head to head.
  • Place three hula hoops and around each cone along with one ball (fleece, gator, tennis).

How to Play:

  • Two-Three students behind each cone.
  • Each team sets up their snowmen directly in the middle, HEAD to HEAD. The first hoop from each team (head of the snowman) touches each other on the center line. They add the rest of the snowmen bodies with the remaining hoops. Therefore there are six hoops in a straight line.
  • On the command the begin, students from each team take turns rolling the ball, trying to get it to land in any of the six hoops. If a ball stops in a hoop, that player takes the hoop and places it around the team cone.
  • Teams play until all six hoops are gone. The team with the most snowman parts wins the round.
  • Each time a team wins a round it earns a round poly spot, which I call snowballs. How many snowballs can each team earn?
  • Set up and play again.
